Rebecca Helvey, author and illustrator of the children’s book, “Greta’s Purpose,” appeared for a book signing event held at the Champion Wood Animal Hospital in Spring, Texas on June 13th between 4:00pm to 6:00pm. Along side Rebecca was the main character of her book, Greta, who helped her sign autographs with a large stamp that was made from her very own paw print! Approximately, 60-80 people attended the event and snacked on paw shaped cookies and finger foods that were cleverly placed in stylish, doggy dishes. The event was a success and the animal hospital is anxious to host a future event when Rebecca’s second book to the Greta series, “Rudy’s Path,” is in print.

The book Greta’s Purpose, written and illustrated by Rebecca Helvey, has a wonderful message for all of us. Greta, a Great Dane, seeks to find her purpose in life. How many of us have or will encounter a similar search in our own lives? This book can be used by teachers to teach cognitive and comprehension skills such as visualization, description, vocabulary use, and inferencing as well as the life lesson of finding your way. I think it is one children and adults can enjoy together to lead to some interesting discussions. I look forward to Rebecca’s future works!

purchased the book Greta’s Purpose written by Rebecca Helvey from Amazon.com and it came in the mail today. I took it to school to give to my son Drake's 2nd grade teacher as a gift. I arrived at the end of the day just as she was preparing to read to the class. She was thrilled with the book and decided to read it to her class today.
The kids absolutely LOVED the story and the illustrations as did Drake's teacher. She is planning to personally purchase the book to donate to the school library at Schultz Elementary.
Rebecca’s parents will have to keep us posted when Rebecca publishes her next book.

Greta's Purpose, written and illustrated by Rebecca Helvey, is a great children's book. This book would be real good to read to children in any setting, especially children's reading programs at public libraries. I certainly recommend this book

As I was reading this to my 4yr old I noticed that even my 2yr old was held captive by the colorful illustrations. Greta was a fantastic character that fascinated my daughter. The story line was wonderful and great for sparking conversations with children about our purpose in life. Thanks Rebecca for such a wholesome book can't wait to read your future work.

As a dog lover, I loved how the book, showed the different jobs that dogs have in helping people. I also liked how Greta's story, shows how we need to have a purpose in life . Kids can learn from this book, especially if parents or teachers will talk with them after the reading. Children will enjoy the colorful pictures of 'Greta' the 'Great Dane'.

Enjoyed the book very much. It illustrates how everyone has a talent, but may have to look to find what it is and how to use it! A very good book for kids of all ages. We all fit in someplace! Recommend it to teachers and parents for any child in their lives.
